Kenya Power announces planned electricity outages across Nairobi, Bomet, Nandi and Nyeri counties as maintenance works aim to improve grid reliability and expand network capacity.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across parts of Nairobi, Bomet, Nandi and Nyeri counties on Monday, April 27, as it carries out maintenance and upgrade works on its network.
In a notice issued on Sunday, the utility said the planned outages are necessary to facilitate routine maintenance of power lines, connect new customers, and replace ageing infrastructure. Most of the interruptions are expected to last up to nine hours, beginning around 9:00 a.m.
In Nairobi County, parts of Nairobi West will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include residential streets such as Msufu Road, Swara Crescent, Ghandi Avenue and Muhoho Avenue, as well as institutions and facilities including Nairobi West Hospital, Strathmore University, Madaraka Estate, and Nyayo Stadium.
In Bomet County, Sotik and surrounding areas such as Gorgor, Gelegele, Abosi, Kapchumbe, Njiship Market, Shartuka Market, and neighbouring areas will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Parts of Kaimosi and Chepkumia in Nandi County will also be affected between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., including Kiborgok, Yala, Chepsonoi, Kaimosi Tea Factory, Kaimosi Bible College, Chepkumia Tea Factory, Sirwo, Tindinyo, and surrounding locations.
In Nyeri County, electricity supply will be interrupted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in areas including Kiamwathi, Kwa Tailor, Karia, Gitero Polytechnic and Market, Kiandere Market, Muthuaini Market, Gatiini, and surrounding locations.
Kenya Power advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements, adding that electricity supply will be restored immediately once maintenance work is completed.
