Ghana Gas has moved to deepen engagement with the National Petroleum Authority as both institutions discuss technical issues towards supporting Ghana’s energy sector.

Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) have renewed efforts to strengthen cooperation aimed at supporting the smooth operation of Ghana’s gas sector and improving services to businesses that depend on the industry.
The commitment was made on Tuesday when the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, Judith Adjobah Blay, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo.
The meeting followed earlier discussions held in August 2025, during which both organisations explored ways to work together to support growth in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
At the latest meeting, both sides focused on issues affecting Ghana Gas operations and how stronger cooperation could help improve efficiency across the sector.
Speaking during the visit, Blay said regular engagement between the two institutions was important because their decisions directly affect businesses operating in the energy sector.
She said, “Following the meeting we had in August last year, we agreed to meet again and discuss a few more technical issues that have a bearing on the work of NPA and Ghana Gas.”
She noted that both organisations play key roles in serving companies within the industry and must maintain close coordination.
“This is because we serve businesses, and these meetings are necessary to ensure that we remain on the same page regarding how we support the companies that engage with us,” she stated.
The Ghana Gas CEO stressed the need for both agencies to remain aligned on operational and regulatory matters to avoid challenges that could affect service delivery.
Responding, Tameklo thanked the Ghana Gas management team for the visit and pledged the NPA’s continued support for the company’s activities. He assured the delegation that the authority would continue carrying out its responsibilities in a way that helps Ghana Gas operate without unnecessary difficulties.
“I personally want to thank the CEO of Ghana Gas for the visit, and we want to assure you that the NPA will return the favour,” he said.
Tameklo added that the regulator would increase efforts in areas where support is needed to improve Ghana Gas operations.
“We will intensify our operational efforts in the areas where we need to make your work less difficult and ensure that your operations continue smoothly,” he said.
He also expressed confidence that the decisions reached during the meeting would produce positive results for both organisations and the wider energy industry.
“I am sure that we have agreed on decisions that will benefit both organisations, and the NPA will deliver on its part of the bargain for the greater good of our sector,” he added.
The meeting highlighted Ghana Gas’ push to maintain strong working ties with regulators as the company seeks to sustain efficient gas operations and support the growth of Ghana’s energy industry.
