Gotion, Green Power Morocco, and Chery Heavy Trucks launch a 2,000-km electric logistics corridor, connecting Agadir, Morocco, to Perpignan, France, to reduce emissions in cross-continental freight.

Gotion, Green Power Morocco, and Chery Heavy Trucks have agreed to develop a 2,000-kilometre electric logistics corridor linking Agadir in southern Morocco to Perpignan. The corridor will also combine battery-electric trucks, battery-swapping infrastructure, and digital fleet management systems to lower emissions from long-haul freight.
Meanwhile, Gotion and Green Power Morocco will form a joint venture to manage fleet operations, install battery-swapping stations, deploy smart dispatch systems, and integrate energy storage solutions. The route, which currently carries roughly 2,000 heavy-duty trucks daily, will benefit from faster turnaround times through battery-swapping technology and standardised battery management.
Furthermore, the partners plan to gradually roll out battery-electric trucks along the corridor. The initial deployment includes 100 heavy-duty electric trucks equipped with Gotion battery systems. Expansion will also follow based on operational performance and the development of supporting infrastructure. Chery Heavy Trucks will contribute vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise.
In addition, the initiative integrates vehicle electrification, energy infrastructure, and digital logistics platforms, creating a replicable model for lower-emission freight corridors across regions. Environmental performance targets will require verification and certification as the project develops.
Phil Jenkins, CEO of GPM Holding, said the cooperation leverages Gotion’s battery technology and Chery’s manufacturing to tailor electric logistics solutions for Morocco’s long-term logistics potential. Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, added that the project expands practical and scalable applications for their battery technologies, supporting low-emission freight solutions.
