The development appears to be part of Tunisia’s broader strategy to increase renewable energy deployment, strengthen grid stability through energy storage integration and expand solar power generation capacity in the nation.

The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy of Tunisia has launched a bid calling on developers within the African country to submit proposals for the development of a 300 MW photovoltaic solar power project.
The project, integrated with a 150 MW/540 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), will be implemented under a concession agreement as part of Tunisia’s national renewable energy development initiative.
The hybrid installation will be developed on a 440-hectare site in Bazma, situated in the Kebili governorate, a region famously known for its strong solar resource potential.
Tender documents and related addenda, in the words of the ministry, will be provided via email to promoters who register to participate through the official AO 01-2026 registration portal. Importantly, the registration period will remain open until May 8, 2026. Additionally, the national government has set October 14, 2026 at 12:00 PM (Tunis time) as the deadline for submitting bids.
The development appears to be part of Tunisia’s broader strategy to increase renewable energy deployment, strengthen grid stability through energy storage integration and expand solar power generation capacity in the nation.
