Africa Energy Indaba is set to hold its 18th annual conference from March 3–5, 2026, in Cape Town, focusing on policy, investment and collaboration across Africa’s evolving energy landscape.

The 18th edition of the Africa Energy Indaba will take place from March 3 to 5, 2026, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), with discussions expected to centre on Africa’s evolving energy landscape.
The event, endorsed by South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, will focus on policy dialogue and investment across key energy segments, including renewable energy, grid modernisation, natural gas, nuclear power, electric vehicles, transmission and distribution, independent power producers (IPPs), power purchase agreements (PPAs), and the just energy transition.
Organisers said the discussions will address persistent challenges such as energy access, infrastructure financing and energy security, while also examining opportunities linked to renewable resources, critical minerals, green hydrogen and emerging power markets across the continent.
Energy ministers and senior government officials from countries including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal and Uganda are expected to participate in ministerial-level sessions aimed at policy coordination and regional collaboration.
The programme is also expected to feature investment-focused engagements involving development finance institutions, private capital providers and project developers, alongside sector-specific forums on gas, nuclear energy, electric mobility, transmission and distribution, women in energy leadership, and IPPs and PPAs.
Africa Energy Indaba has historically served as a platform for policy engagement, investment discussions and partnerships within Africa’s energy sector.
