The EcoNexus 3.0, slated for March 24, is geared to help industries translate sustainability and circular economy initiatives into measurable economic value, highlighting women’s roles in climate action.

The Lagos State government says it will host EcoNexus 3.0, a high-level forum bringing together industry leaders, sustainability professionals, and private sector stakeholders to explore how climate and circular economy initiatives can generate tangible financial benefits.
Titilayo Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, explained that the event, themed “Beyond Compliance: Monetising Climate and Circular Actions for Industries,” will take place on March 24, 2026, in Victoria Island. She emphasised that the forum is designed to help businesses move beyond regulatory compliance and extract measurable economic value from sustainability efforts.
“EcoNexus 3.0 introduces a new dimension to the conversation by spotlighting an area many organisations have historically overlooked: the ability to translate sustainability and climate actions into measurable economic and financial value,” Oshodi said. “This is the next frontier that will scale climate action and accountability across industries.”
She noted that while many companies are already implementing initiatives such as energy efficiency improvements, waste reduction, recycling systems, and responsible sourcing practices, the financial opportunities embedded in those actions often remain untapped.
“Through EcoNexus 3.0, we are introducing a new approach to help industries move beyond regulatory compliance and begin to recognise, structure, and monetise the sustainability and circular economy initiatives they are already implementing,” she added.
The forum will also showcase innovative tools aimed at helping organisations measure, manage, and optimise their climate performance. Oshodi highlighted DecarbonIQ, a platform designed to support companies in understanding and managing their carbon emissions and circularity footprint. “This forms part of the broader effort of the Office of Climate Change and Circular Economy to equip industries with practical sustainability solutions,” she said.
In alignment with global conversations around International Women’s Day, EcoNexus 3.0 will feature a session dedicated to business opportunities for women within the sustainability and circular economy sectors. Oshodi explained that this session aims to highlight the growing role of women professionals in shaping sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance leadership across industries.
The adviser further emphasised that the EcoNexus platform is part of Lagos State’s strategy to strengthen collaboration between government and industry, positioning the city as a leader in climate action and circular economy innovation in Africa.
The event is expected to attract senior private sector executives, sustainability practitioners, and policy stakeholders to examine practical pathways for aligning environmental responsibility with business profitability.
