The Nigerian energy company reaches one million man-hours without a fatality, lost-time injury or occupational illness as it expands gas and power projects in Nigeria and Ghana.

Tetracore Energy Group has recorded one million cumulative safe man-hours as it expands gas, power and industrial energy projects in Nigeria and Ghana, with no lost-time injury, fatality, permanent disability, restricted work case or occupational illness recorded during the period.
The safety record comes as the company develops several energy projects, including power generation in Ogun State, compressed natural gas facilities in Ogun and Edo states, gas infrastructure in Ghana and a planned gas-fired power project in Nasarawa State.
Tetracore said the record covers work carried out by its employees, contractors, leadership and partners. It said daily safety actions, including reporting hazards, obeying established procedures and stopping unsafe practices, contribute to the record.
Dr Olakunle Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tetracore Energy Group, said the achievement came from the collective work of people involved in the company’s activities.
“This milestone is a testament to the collective commitment of our people, leadership, contractors and partners to making safety a fundamental part of how we operate.”
The company’s safety record comes as it expands its energy infrastructure across several parts of the value chain, including gas distribution, compressed natural gas, AutoGas, power generation and industrial energy facilities.
Tetracore has started commercial power generation and distribution from Phase I of its 100MW Atakobo Independent Power Generation and Distribution System in Ogun State.
The project currently supplies 20MW and has about 80 kilometres of 33kV transmission and distribution infrastructure supporting the system.
The company is also developing a 60MW gas-fired independent power project in Nasarawa State. The project is designed to scale up to between 120MW and 150MW.
At the Atakobo Energy Park, Tetracore is advancing a 20MW Tier III data centre with Huawei and Inspirive Technologies. The facility is designed to receive power from Tetracore’s integrated energy infrastructure.
Its CNG network has also expanded through new Auto CNG facilities in Ogun and Edo states. The company has extended its gas infrastructure into Ghana as it builds its presence outside Nigeria.
The projects place the one-million-hour safety record against a period of active construction, power generation and energy infrastructure development.
Tetracore’s Nigerian operations and facilities received three international management certifications in May.
They include ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.
The certifications were issued after an audit by Bureau Veritas and accredited by UKAS.
The company has also completed its EcoVadis sustainability assessment and received recognition for its approach to environmental, social and governance management.
The assessment covered areas including environmental performance, ethical business practices, responsible procurement and social responsibility.
Tetracore said its safety and sustainability systems are being used as it expands its gas and power activities in Nigeria and West Africa.
The company said the one-million-hour record involves people working throughout its projects and facilities. It also said hazard reporting, established safety procedures and intervention when unsafe practices are seen are part of its day-to-day safety system.
Tetracore's activities now cover gas distribution, CNG, AutoGas, gas-fired power generation and industrial energy infrastructure in Nigeria, with gas infrastructure also operating in Ghana.
